New Jersey Industrial Marketplace: Manufacturers, Exporters & Industrial Suppliers

After several requests from a number of Buy American readers from the great state of New Jersey, we are pleased to feature the state this week on the site. The idea of course is to help promote industrial suppliers based in New Jersey on a national and international level. That includes manufacturers, machine shops, exporters, distributors and other companies that sell industrial supplies, equipment, machinery and custom manufacturing services. It may surprise you that New Jersey is the 3rd state to enter the Union, ahead of even the likes of Massachusetts and Virginia, the two states often called the foundation of America’s birthplace. Yet, New Jersey, known as the ‘Garden State’ is often in the shadows of New York. Nonetheless, New Jersey is an important industrial state in the union and although it rarely gets credit or the publicity as its larger neighbor, the state, despite its small size but large population (8,717,900 Est. 2005) is a major producer of industrial goods.

New Jersey Industries

New Jersey is a major producer of garden vegetables such as corn, asparagus, tomatoes and a wide range of other crops. The state also ranks high in the supply of livestock animals such as dairy product and poultry, although not nearly as high as most Midwest and Southeast states. Virtually all garden vegetables are grown in New Jersey and sold to local, national and international markets. The state also produces a lot of blueberries which are grown widely through its landscape. The state is one of America’s leading manufacturers of industrial, technical and other chemicals and is considered a world leader in R&D covering a wide range of fields. New Jersey is home to a number of large oil refineries which are scattered primarily throughout the northern section of the state. Other industries in New Jersey responsible for much of the state’s revenues (excluding government) include apparel, electrical equipment, industrial machinery, instruments and pharmaceuticals.
